Abstrak

            Most commercial tropical fruits have seasonal harvesting characteristics. During the harvest season, generally for a short period of about 2-3 months, the availability of abundant fruit, vice versa when there is no harvest season on the market. This situation in terms of agribusiness is very unfavorable. Manipulation of plants in order to be able to  fruit in accordance with the desired time is very necessary, so that the supply-demand balance in the longer time  can be improved. Therefore, the development of fruit production technology outside the season will play a very important role to maintain the continuity of availability. The successful application of fruit production technology outside the season will guarantee the volume of production of the desired quality on an ongoing basis. This is important because in fruit agribusiness, fulfilling the principles of quantity, quality and continuity will have a very large impact in increasing market penetration and competitiveness.
