Abstrak

Land and water are key factors in food production so it is crucial to the success of agricultural development. The availability of land and water resources is increasingly scarce and limited due to population pressures and the rapid pace of development in all fields which directly or indirectly has an impact on increasing demand for these resources. The increasing demand causes competition in its utilization to also increase, both between the agricultural sector and the non-agricultural sector as well as between users in the agricultural sector itself. Competition in land and water use will eventually shift its availability to agriculture. For Bali with a relatively narrow area, the existence of such intense competition if not properly controlled will be able to threaten the sustainability of Bali's agriculture and environmental sustainability, which in turn will have a negative impact on the development of other sectors. In this regard, appropriate management efforts are needed and optimization of their utilization is needed, to the extent possible to prevent and minimize damage so as to ensure the preservation of these natural resources for the benefit of present and future generations.

This book content covering the potential and problems of land and water resources, various impacts that arise as a result of competition, efforts to overcome and minimize the occurrence of competition, as well as efforts to manage and optimize the use of existing land and water resources, both in the agricultural sector and outside the agricultural sector. Thus, this book would be appropriate to read and listen to its contents by those working in the field of development planning, bureaucrats, academics and practitioners whose tasks are directly or indirectly related to land and water resource issues, environmentalists, and general readers the other.
