Abstrak

            The diversity of bananas in Bali is very high and this is in line with the diverse needs of the Balinese people for bananas. For the people of Bali, bananas are not only needed by the fruit but also stems, leaves, flowers, midribs, and other parts. From its utilization, bananas in Bali are not only of economic value for food needs, inter-island trade and exports, but also of social and cultural value for traditional and cultural ritual activities, tourism consumption, decorative materials, household industry raw materials, medicinal materials medicine, etc. The diversity of bananas in Bali is high with very wide use on the one hand, while on the other hand there are threats of various pests and diseases that are difficult to overcome, causing the need to preserve and conserve bananas so they don't become extinct. Conservation in the form of banana germplasm or Arboretum Botanical Garden is carried out in Gianyar in 3 locations, namely in Taro Village, Tegalalang District, Kerta Village Payangan District and Gianyar Village Gianyar District. This book examines the Origins, Distribution and Grouping of Banana Types, Banana Nutrition and Benefits, Bananas and Morphology of Banana Plants, especially those conserved in the Banana Germplasm in Taro Village, Kerta and Kelurahan Gianyar, Pest and Important Diseases of Bananas in Banana Bali, and the Socio-Economic Value of Bananas in Bali.
