Pengaruh Lingkungan terhadap Ganesha dalam Kakawin Smaradahana Analisis Semiotik

Research on Kakawin Smaradahana text is examined with semiotic approach. The purpose of this analysis is to describe how the significance the Ganesha figure either in text and context through sign and symbol as well as observe how environmental influences in the character build of Ganesha. The methods and techniques used include stage of collecting data, literature study, translation, recording, and interview. This research outlines how environmental experience (nurture) and genetic factors (nature) build character figures of Ganesha and how in context in society through interview result to some informant. The conclusion is the characteristic of Ganesha figure established by the environmental experience and genetic factors. Keywords: sign, character building, text and context
