I Putu Suparthana is a lecturer in the Department of Food Science and Technology, Faculty of Agricultural Technology-Udayana University. When he entered the fourth year of his undergraduate study in the Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture-Udayana University, he was the first student of his age who studied in the field of biotechnology using Agrobacterium tumefaciens.  After graduated in 1997, he worked as a laboratory assistant in the same department. In 2002 (October), he got a big chance to pursued a master's and doctor's degree in a national university in Japan (Shinshu University). He continued to study biotechnology by using Agrobacterium tumefaciens and got his Ph.D in 2008. He then backs to Udayana University to work as a lecturer until now.
