Abstrak

Research on the diversity of molluscs and crustaceans was conducted in the mangrove area of Nature Conservation Forum (NCF) Putri Menjangan, Pejarakan Village, Buleleng. The research was conducted from May to July 2019. The importance of this research is as a reference for mangrove managers in developing ecotourism and mangrove forest conservation efforts and produced a handbook on the diversity of molluscs and crustaceans for ecotourism attractions. Sampling was carried out in 24 squares on three mangrove zoning (front zone, middle zone and back zone). Specimens from each quadrate were preserved in bottles filled with 70% alcohol and subsequently identified in the Animal Taxonomy Laboratory of the Biology Study Program FMIPA, Udayana University. Identification of molluscs and crustaceans based on morphological characters. Mollusca and crustacean diversity was calculated by Shanon-Wiener diversity index. The results found 36 species, consisting of 26 species of molluscs and 10 species of crustaceans. The diversity of molluscs and crustaceans in the NCF mangrove area is included in the medium category with a diversity index of 2.88. The highest diversity is found in the front zone. Groups of molluscs, the species of the giant mangrove whelk (Terebralia palustris) is quite dominant and groups of crustaceans, the species of crab (Uca vocans) and hermit crabs (Ceinobita sp.) found to be quite dominant in three mangrove zoning. The existence of molluscs and crustaceans in three mangrove zones is an interesting attraction for ecotourism activities.
