SMK Negeri 1 Petang is the only Vocational High School in Bali which only develops the expertise in Agribusiness and Agrotechnology, meaning that it does not develop other expertise. The school is located at a mountainous agricultural area. The tropical climate supports the expertise it develops, namely the agricultural sector. However, based on the evaluation made after the school building was used, it has several problems causing it to be difficult to be developed. The problems have something to do with its function, capacity, circulation, construction and condition. Therefore, it needs to be redesigned as a solution to the problems so that it can be used as a place where the learning activities can be comfortably and optimally carried out. As well, it needs to be redesigned to make it have the character as the learning center for agriculture. To this end, the Ecological Architectural concept which is oriented towards the natural harmony will be applied. The site where the building will be built cannot be separated from how the mass and open green spaces are patterned. In this way, the natural evaporation and lighting can be optimized and the artificial energy can be minimally used.
