Resistensi Bakteri Aeromonas sp. Isolat Ikan Piranha (Pygosentrus nattereri) Bali Safari And Marine Park terhadap Antibiotik

Abstrak
ABSTRACT Piranha (Pygosentrus nattereri) is a fish that has been conserved at Conservation Center of Bali Safari and Marine Park. In May 2012 there was a case that twelve Piranhas suffered from illness and two of them died without any specific clinical signs. The dead Piranhas were necropsied and the tissues or parts of organs were collected for microbial examination interests. Spesies specific bacterial examination was also included using Microgen GNA TM + B-ID system test The bacterial examination found that the fishes were infected by Aeromonas hydropila and Aeromonas veronii. Further examination about antibiotic resistance tests showed that those Aeromonas spp were resistant to chloramphenicol and a combination of trimethoprim and sulphamethoxazole. It can be suggested that, next, the usage of other antibiotics is strongly recommended for the case of Piranha infected by Aeromonas spp at Bali Safari and Marine Park. Key words: Piranha, Bacterial examination, Aeromonas sp, Antibiotic resistance ABSTRAK Ikan Piranha (Pygosentrus nattereri) merupakan ikan yang dikonservasi di Lembaga Konservasi Bali Safari and Marine Park. Pada bulan Mei 2012 ditemukan kasus bahwa sebanyak 12 ekor ikan Piranha menunjukkan tanda-tanda kesakitan, dan dua ekor diantaranya mati tanpa menunjukkan tanda klinis yang khas Ikan yang mati dinekropsi dan beberapa jaringan atau bagian organ dikoleksi untuk kepentingan pemeriksaan mikroba. Pemeriksaan bakteri untuk penentuan spesies juga dilabatkan dengan menggunakan uji Microgen TM GnA+B-ID System. Hasil pemeriksaan bakteri menemukan bahwa ikan Piranha diinfeksi oleh bakteri Aeromonas hydropila dan Aeromonas veronii. Pemeriksaan lebih lanjut mengenai uji hambatan antibiotik menunjukkan bahwa bakteri Aeromonas sp resisten terhadap chloramphenicol dan campuran trimethoprim dengan sulphamethoxazole. Dapat disarankan bahwa, ke depan, penggunaan antibiotik lain sangat direkomendasikan untuk kasus ikan Piranha yang diinfeksi oleh bakteri Aeromona spp di Bali Safari dan Marine Park.
