The structure of political discourse, in this book, is seen from three structures: (1) text, (2) discourse practice and (3) social practice. In terms of media (television) texts, the pattern is exhibited through three stages: (a) initiation texts containing of preliminary disclosure patterns to stimulate dynamic ideas, (b) response texts designed to provide answers or responses to initiated topics, and (c) feedbacks as a way to develop topics into subordinate topics. Text production is related to the system of engineering programs produced in order to achieve a goal based on the ideology of the media embraced. In the news television media, engineered information is heavily influenced by aspects outside the text: (a) the selection of topics, (b) the capacity of the host, (c) viewpoints and points of view, (d) elaboration of facts, sources of discourse and their effectiveness. The third structure of discourse is concerned with social practices represented by ideological choices and their association with the system of power. In the practice of power there is always a relationship of hegemony or dominance of one discourse with the discourse of another.
