Abstrak

In the book entitled FORENSIC LINGUISTICS: Cross-Language Text Case Study presents 18 writings that vary in terms of topics, discussion models, and different types of language texts: Indonesian, Balinese, English and Japanese. The eighteen works were divided into seven topics: Theoretical Studies and Their Application, Legal Documents, Suicide, Hate Speech, Discrimination of ethnics-relegion-races, Prostitution, and Criticism of Government Officials. The text data analyzed came from a variety of sources that included online media texts, statutory texts, local regulatory texts, even village regulation texts (awig-awig). Research problems also vary, especially with regard to potential violations of the law or social ethics of the text analyzed. Forensic Linguistics approaches supported by microlinguistic and macrolinguistic theories become the main analytical tools for finding linguistic evidence that leads to violations of law or social ethics.
