Biografi
I Made Supartha Utama completed his bachelor
(Ir.) at the Faculty of Agriculture in 1984, continued his Masters (MS) at the
Bogor Institute of Agriculture in the Postgraduate Study Program, Postgraduate
Faculty, and finished in 1991. He completed his doctoral (Ph.D) program in the
field of Food Technology in Newcastle, Australia in 2000. He was a permanent
lecturer in the Agricultural and Biosystem Engineering Study Program, Faculty
of Agricultural Technology (FAT) from 1987 till now, and was
awarded as a Professor's in 2008 in the field of Physiology and
Postharvest Technology of Horticulture Crops. During his time as a lecturer, he
actively carried out applied research based on the needs of society and
industry, through the collaboration of various institutions. In 2001-2004 he
was Principal Investigator of the FAT project with Texas A&M University,
USA, through the Education for Community Food Enterprise Development (ECFED)
project. In 2004-2007 he was the Principal Investigator and Full Consultant of
the Cold Chain project implemented by Winrock International and Texas A&M
University, USA.. From 2007 to 2008 he was a consultant on the Indonesia -
Agribusiness Support Activity (AMARTA) project implemented by DAI-USA. In
2009-2011 he managed the Higher Education Industrial Linkage (HI-Link) project
funded by the Directorate of Higher Education and the Regional Government of
Tabanan Regency - Bali under the Value Chain Partnership Program in the Bedugul
Region. In 2011-2014 he was the Principal Investigator of the collaboration
between FAT - Unud and the Asia Vegetable Research Center (AVRDC) - the
Vegetable World Center in Taiwan for the Mobilizing vegetable genetic resources
and technologies project to enhance household nutrition, income and livelihoods
in Indonesia. Simultaneously in 2012-2014 he was also the Principal
Investigator in the Integrated Pest Management project implemented by Clemson
University, USA. He was also a Short Term Consultant for the International
Labor Organization (ILO) -Dili in 2013. He was involved as a Short Term
Consultant for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) Appropriate
Postharvest Technology Planning Project - WFLO / UC Davis in 2009. He work as a
consultant for GTZ-Rural Development Program - Development of Polyvalent Curriculum
of Three Agriculture Vocational Schools in East Timor in 2007-2008.
At Udayana University, he was active in institutional development as Assistant Director for program development of the SPMU-TPSDP Batch III Project in 2002-2007, as the Executive Director of the Institutional-Based Competitive Grant Program (PHKI) in 2008-2011, as the Chair of the Monev Division of the Quality Assurance Agency of UNUD in 2006-2008. From 2014 until now he has been the Chair of the Udayana community Development Program (UCDP). From 2008 until now he has also been actively providing training for lecturers in the internal Unud related to curriculum development and learning. Outside Unud he is active in various organizations, such as the Founder and Board of Trustees of the Indonesian Cooling Chain Association (2004 - present). As an organizational committee of the Indonesian Horticultural Association (2009-2014), as the Chair of the Indonesian Horticultural Association Bali Chapter (2014-2017), He is also active as the Higher Education Curriculum Development Team at the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs, the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (2010- at present).
