Biografi

I Nyoman Sunarta is a lecturer in the Tourism Study Program, Tourism Faculty, Udayana University. His bachelor in Hydrology from the Faculty of Geography, Gadjah Mada University, and continued his Masters in Environmental Science at the Gadjah Mada University. In 1994, he returned to Udayana University and became a research staff at PPLH and get opportunity for an Integrated Coastal Zone planning and management course at James Cook Australia. He was involved in a research collaboration between Bali HESG Udayana University and several universities in the UK. In 1999 he was a consultant for the government of Bali and Denpasar City, in the field of the natural environment, especially water and land, which is incorporated in the Bali Development Expert Group.

He has an experience as the secretary of the Tourism Studies Masters Study Program, the Postgraduate Program at Udayana University, and developed cooperation with several universities in Australia and Thailand. In 2008, the Director General of Higher Education provided the opportunity to respond to the collaboration between Udayana University and Sorbhone and Angers University in Francis, in the French and Indonesian Masters Degree Program (DDIP) for 5 years. In between his busy schedule he succeeded in proposing a S3 tourism program at Udayana University and was approved in 2010.

Several studies have been conducted related to the development of tourism, and its relationship with natural resources, especially water and land. including studies of carrying capacity of water, in supporting the development of tourism in Bali, and the development of tourism to the potential of water in the Kuta, Bali area, and the Tri Ning Danu sustainable tourism model in the Bedugul Tourism Region of Bali.

He was the head of the Gobali international class program in 2017, then in 2018, he became the Dean of the Faculty of Tourism of Udayana University. He also participated to develop collaboration with several universities at home and abroad, especially in the field of student exchanges, lecturers and research collaboration, as a guest lecturer and speaker at the conference.
