The Asean Way, on Whose Preference?

The ASEAN Way is a popular term used when describe cooperation system between Southeast Asia states member. Consensus chosen as a way which can accommodate all states member interests. The adaptation of how the consensus works between states is the main subject that might been forgotten. When the community decide to unite their way as one, sometimes they did not realize that they actually come from diversity, which means ASEAN is built by many faces of culture in Southeast Asia who represented by its member state. Through this point, people now questioning about which nation (face) is appropriate enough could represent the whole community, who can guarantee that the rest of members are not gonna compete for it? Furthermore, the existence of ASEAN itself seems does not reflect any significant aspects than just a formal organization that regional must have.
