Bali is entering its 3rd month in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic starting from March 2020. At this time Bali is experiencing a "Tourism Pause" which is a phenomenon of Tourism where all tourism activities are stopped for some reason.


Bali Governor I Wayan Koster said there were no plans to reopen Bali Tourism amid a pandemic because it would have an effect on increasing the number of positive COVID-19 patients. But "New Normal Tourism" will still be done but in stages. for local tourists it will open in July, for domestic tourists it opens in August and for foreign tourists it opens in September.


Ida Ayu Indah Yustikarini as a representative of the Bali Provincial Government's Tourism Office in Live Streaming Youtube (21/06) stated "there are several strategic steps for the provincial government of Bali in health protocols based on cleanliness, healthy and Safety". Reflecting on this, the government requires each tourist destination to meet the health protocol for tourists and officials at the tourist destination.


Tourist destinations that are currently visited by many local tourists for quiet reasons namely natural tourist destinations such as mountains and beaches. One of the photos below is a Tourism Faculty student who visited the tourism area of ​​the village of Pinggan Kintamani Bangli.

This visit was carried out with independent health protocols such as the use of masks and continued physical distancing.

The "New Normal Tourism" policy in Bali is expected to be an example for other provinces in its implementation.
