Abstract
Joger is one of the typical souvenir shopping centers on the
island of Bali, Joger T-shirts are one of the many excellent Joger
products that are best known and sought after by many domestic
and foreign tourists because in Joger shirts contain a picture of
letters and numbers that produce an art motif on t-shirts (shirts) that
are not owned by any shirt and only exist in Joger shirts. Joger's
copyrighted works are often violated by other parties who are not
responsible for infringing the copyright of the owner of Joger Bali,
namely using the motif art on the Joger T-shirt to be bought and sold
without pocketing a permit. The discussion in this thesis aims to find
out the legal protection and sanction efforts that can be done in the
occurrence of violations of the Joger t-shirt motif artwork.
Research in this Journal uses empirical legal research
methods, which means principles or legal rules relating to the
protection of copyright in art motifs in Joger t-shirts and interviewing
Joger owners regarding the application of complaint offenses in the
Copyright Act Number 28 of 2014 so that the purpose of this
research is to determine the effectiveness of the offense, whether or
not used properly by the creator and criminal sanctions applied to
pirates because this offense has a passive nature when the event
takes place and waits for reports from the injured parties before
proceeding which is different from ordinary offense.
