Abstrak
Comprehensive
planning of transportation and urban planning are urgently needed to
anticipate dependence on automobile problems. The issues are usually
addressed partially, without a long-term solution. These problems are
commonly faced by both developing and developed cities, such as Bandung. To solve the problems,
Bandung’s government has planned Bandung as a livable and compact city with transit oriented
development (TOD) concept. TOD integrates and synergizes urban planning and transportation issues, tocreate
a compact and integrated area around the transit station, in order to
minimize the use of private vehicles, and encourage the use of public transportation modes. On that term, Bandung actively integrates public transport
services, such as railways,BRT, and angkot. Within a short time, Bandung will have
LRT (monorail) and electrified
railways (Padalarang-Cicalengka),to
support TOD. However, there is
no specific location selected yet by
stakeholder as TOD location in Bandung. As
a concept originatedin America
and Europe, there is no
literature on TOD site selection criteria available in Bandung. This research
emphasizes on TOD location
criteria and assessment in Bandung, selecting the most suitable TOD location in
Bandung, which is a critical
factoron TOD successfulness.
