Biografi

I have finished my Master degree in Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) and I graduated on May 2017. Formerly, I also finished my Bachelor's degree in the same department. Since I was a child, I really like the sea, ocean, and fish. So that’s why I follow my intuition to focus on marine science. I am majoring aquatic product technology in the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science. I concern with postharvest and management of various aquatic/marine biodiversity. I believe my capability will enable me to bring constructive solutions in coastal development of Indonesia. With my strong motivation, I will continuously expand my knowledge base and skills to help each other.

Dealing with coastal is not an unfamiliar thing to me. I conducted my first research about coastal reclamation in Serangan Island (Bali) when I was a third-year senior high school student. I determined the local impact of reclamation on coral reefs through the eco-sociological approach. With my team, I revealed more than 50% of local fishermen convert into illegal-coral miners. Besides, coral damage caused by reclamation reached out more than 30%. Our research has been presented in CRITC COREMAP II Indonesian Institute of Science (LIPI) and got 1st winner of 3rd Youth Innovator Contest in Indonesian Coral Reef Conservation. Before, I have experienced several scientific writing competition when I was in senior high school. Those achievements drive and boost me to continue my research in college.

I have received several research grant since I began my scientific research in IPB. Most of them funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia through the Student Creativity Project (PKM). I have received a research grant for 5 projects during 2012-2014. One of those projects becomes my undergraduate thesis, about chitosan utilization. I develop a composite membrane formulation and fabricating manipulation to increase mechanical quality from chitosan. My research has been presented in Indonesian Institute of Science (LIPI), and I got 1st Winner of 12th Indonesian Young Researcher Election in Natural Science.

Throughout my life, I have participated in extracurricular activities including valuable volunteer experiences. I took part in several annual events in Bogor for almost 5 years from 2012. One of them was Ciliwung’s trash-collecting Competition and Cap Go Meh Bogor Art Street Festival. In that event, I have managed to work together for preparing whole detail requirements. Those experiences inspired me to develop my research holistically. I realized that marine-based products did not only depend on their processing but also influenced by their ecology. Lastly, I conducted my graduate thesis about producing collagen from swimbladder waste. Physiologically, I also study collagen bioavailability by observing swimbladder tissue.

I am interested to study in Ecophysiology. I think they are a challenging subject and they appropriate with my academic milestone. Recently, global warming has influenced most of the coastal ecology. Consequently, it was indirectly affected by marine products and its derivate. I think a better understanding of the relationship between the environmental adaptation of marine organisms, metabolic process, and the role of specific chemical compounds is the important key to manage coastal biodiversity. It was my significant research and I hope you would supervise my work. I believe in your expertise can guide me to explore the comparative physiology of marine organisms.
