Dr. dr. Anak Agung Ayu Meidiary, SpS(K) Biography
I was born on May 10,1964. Mother is a
teacher and father is also a teacher . Father gave my name according to the
month of birth, namely Meidiary or full name is Anak Agung Ayu Meidiary.As a fourth child I
followed my brother and sister to become a doctor . Younger siblings become
engineers and the job requires moving
cities.
I was born in the city of Denpasar, where
I studied from elementary School to college. I earned a doctor degree in 1989
at Udayana University, leaving the city of Denpasar while undergoing education
to become a neurologist at Airlangga University Surabaya in 1999 and earned a
neurologist degree in 2002. I earned a consultant degree in clinical
neurophysiology, especially electroencephalography in 2019 and earned a
doctorate ( PhD) with a research entiteld “The Effect of Adipose Derived Mesenchymal
Stem Cells (AMSCs) compared to Levodopa Administration on The Increase In Glial
Cell Line Derived Neurothropic Factor ( GDNF) Expression , Increase In
Dopaminergic Cell Apoptosis and Improvement in Motor Performance Of Rotenone
Injected Rat Models ” on January 6,2020 .
I Married in 1989 with
A.A.Gde Natakesuma, BSc who worked as an entrepreneur and had 3 children namely
A.A.Ayu Indah Adnya Pratiwi SKg, dr A.A
GD Bagus Paramartha Sked dan A.A.Ayu
Sinta Ananda Putri. The first child is married and has two sons while the
second child is currently studying to become an anesthesiologist at Udayana
University medical scholl.
I
worked as a general practitioner at the Sanglah General Hospital in Denpasa
from 1990 to 1998 and returned to work as a neurologist at the hospital after
completing neurological specialist education in 2002. The Sanglah General
hospital is a teaching hospital so as a doctor who work at the teaching
hospital, I am also a lecturer at the Udayana University Medical Faculty which
was officially established in 2011 with a Rector’s decree.
I
am involved in three fields of neurology namely neurogeriatry, clinical
neurophysiology EEG and epilepsy and neurorestoration :
The Neurogeriatrc Field
Until
now, I have been a member of The Central
Indonesian Neurogical Association(INA)
Neurogeriatric Working and coordinator
of the Denpasar branch INA Neurogeriatric working group. I have also been
a member of the integrated geriatric team at Sanglah General Hospital Denpasar
since 2018. I am also the neurogeriatric
teaching coordinator at the Udayana University Medical Faculty Neurologist
Study Program. Become a special Topic teacher; Geriatrics at the 3rd semester of
the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University since 2010. Experience as an
international speaker at the Neurogeriatric symposium: 20th Asia Pacific Regional
Conference Alzheimer's Disease International: Diagnostic approach of
neurological disorders in elderly, 3 - 5 November 2017 in Jakarta. Becoming a
resource person for the training held by the Health Intelligence Center of the
Secretariat General of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia in
2015: Competence Enhancement for National Health Development through
Intelligence Health Development "held in Bali, was a speaker at the BANU
IV Neurogeriatric Workshop" Neurology in elderly "in Bali 2016 and as
a speaker of Neurogeriatrics Workshop at Nationan Indonesian Congres in
Balikpapan: Approach on Geriatric Problems and Related Disorders ”also in 2016.
Experience as a speaker in the field of Neurogeriatry at the National level as
Poster presenter at National Congress V INA : Comparison of cognitive function
in elderly with hypertension and without hypertension in Denpasar -Bali 9 - 13
July 2003, Speaker at the 1st Bali Aging and Geriatric Update Syposium &
Workshop (BAGUS 2007): Parkinson's Disease, at Udayana Medical Faculty Denpasar

Clinical Neurophysiology and
Epilepsy
I have been
the coordinator of the EEG Clinical Neurophysiology subdivision and have been
teaching PPDS1 Neurology in the field of EEG and epilepsy since 2008. Carrying
out EEG examination health services since 2008. I've been a member of INA Epilepsy working group until now.
Received international certification as Electroencephalographer from ASEAN
EPILEPSY ACADEMY (ASEPA) and ASEAN NEUROLOGICAL ASSOCIATION (ASNA) EEG
CERTIFICATION EXAMINATION in 2013. Obtained a consultant degree in
Neurophysiology in 2019 from the Indonesian Neurology College (KNI) No 102 / SK
/ KNI-PERDOSSI / V / 2019.
The training in
electroencephalography that was followed included; Knowledge and Skills
Training in the Field of Electroencephalography (EEG) at DR.SOETOMO hospital Surabaya: 6 June 2008-29
August 2008. Distance Education Course Virtual Epilepsy Academy (VIREPA): EEG
in Diagnosis & Management of Epilepsy-Basic Course, 12 October 2012 - 2
June 2013. As a participant in a number
of national and international workshops and seminars on epilepsy and EEG.
As
a Neurophysiology speaker at the international level including at The 5th Asian
Oceanian Congress of clinical Neurophysiology Bali Indonesia in 2013, The 20th
Asia Pacific Regional Conference Alzheimer's disease International in Jakarta
2017, The 12th Asian Oceanian Epilepsy Congress Bali Indonesia 2018, Joint
meeting 2018 Healthcare and Cardiology Conference & 2018 mental Health and
neurology Conference Bangkok Thailand 2019 and also as a speaker on
neurophysiology and epilepsy at the national level.

In
this field, I obtained a Doctoral Degree (PhD) in Biomedical medical science,
Medical Faculty, Udayana University with a research entitled "The Effect
of Adipose Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells (AMSCs) Compared to Levodopa on
Increased Expression of Glial Cell Line Derived Neurothropic Factor (GDNF),
Decreased Apoptosis of Dopaminergic Cells. And Improvements to the Motoric
