Biografi
Syamsul Alam Paturusi is a professor at the Department of
Architecture, Udayana University, Bali, Indonesia. He took his professorship in
the field of Urban Design, Udayana University, in 2017.
He finished his undergraduate degree from the Department of
Architecture, University of Hasanuddin, South Sulawesi in 1983. By 1984, he
appointed as a permanent lecturer at the Department of Architecture, Udayana
University since 1984.
He obtained his master degree on Regional and City
Planning from Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), in West Java, in 1988.
He was actively involved in various Spatial Planning
projects in Bali, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), North
Maluku, Jakarta and Aceh until 1997 when he decided to continue his doctoral at
IRSAM - Universite de Pau et des Pays de l'Adour, France. He finished his
doctoral study in 2000.
Apart from teaching at the Architecture Department both for
under and postgraduate level, Professor Syamsul also teaches at the Masters
Program of Tourism, Environmental Sciences Study Program, doctoral program of Engineering,
Tourism, and Environmental Sciences.
From 2014-2018, he was the secretary of the Masters Program
in Tourism. By then, he has been the head of Postgraduate Study Program of
Environmental Sciences, Udayana University.
