Ida Bagus Badjra was born in Bungaya Village, Bebandem District, Karangasem Regency on February 28, 1958. He spent his childhood in Bungaya Village until he graduated from Bungaya State Elementary School 2. After graduated from elementary school he continued at the Junior High School 1 Karangasem until graduated in 1973 and his high school was completed at High School 1 Karangasem in 1976. He continued his study at Economy Faculty, Udayana University and graduated in 1983.

During his study at Economy Faculty, he actively participated in Student Senate of Economy Faculty and on one occasion in 1980 was sent by Udayana University to attend a referee and volleyball training course. He represented Udayana University several times in volleyball competition at Porseni event both at the regional and national levels.

The first child was born on May 2, 1987 and her name is Ida Ayu Yogi Saraswati, the second child was born on June 14, 1989 and his name is Ida Bagus Yoga Pandita and the last child was born on August 8, 1991 and her name is Ida Ayu Mita Yoni.

He has been a lecturer since 1986 at the Economy Faculty, Udayana University until now in 2020. During his time as a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics, he was trusted to be Assistant of Management Department for Student Affairs from 2000 to 2004, after that he was appointed as Vice Dean of Economy Faculty for Student Affairs for two periods from 2004 to 2012.

During his time as a lecturer, he actively carried out the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi in research filed as head research and members, as well as in community service and teaching.
