Dr. I Gusti Wayan Murjana Yasa, SE., M.Sc. was born in Timpag Village, Kerambitan District, Tabanan Regency on July 27, 1957. The sixth child of 7 siblings completed elementary school education in his home village, SD No. 1 Timpag (1971). Education then continued at SMEP Dharma Kerti Sembung Gede (1974). High school education was completed at SMEA Negeri Tabanan (1977). The Bachelor of Economics (Development Economics) degree was obtained at the Faculty of Economics of Udayana University in 1983. Furthermore, through scholarships obtained from the Government of Indonesia and writing fee assistance from the Government of Canada, Masters and Doctorate degrees in the field of Population sciences were obtained at the Gadjah Mada University Graduate Program – Yogyakarta, in 1993 and 2000.

     Since 1984, this man with 3 sons has worked as a lecturer at Faculty of Economics and Business Udayana University, both in programs (Regular and Non-Regular S1), Masters Program (Management and Economics) and Doctoral Program in Economics. Various positions and consultants have been supported, including the Secretary of the Education Board of Udayana University (2001-2002), Secretary of the Udayana Development Economics Masters Program (2002-2005), Secretary of the Udayana University Cooperation Committee (2005-2008), Chair of the Department of Economic Development of Udayana University (2008 -2012), Chair of the Doctoral Program in Economics (2009-2011), Vice Dean for Academic Affairs FEB Unud (2012-2016). Experience as a Consultant such as: Expert Staff of the Bali Provincial DPRD (2004-2009), the Bali Provincial KPU Member Selection Team (2008), and the Denpasar City Government Development Expert Group (2001-present), and also actively serves as Chair of the Center for Population Research and Development Human Resources at Udayana University.
