Dr. I Ketut Surya Duiarta, SP., MA. the fourth child of four siblings was born on April 13, 1971 in Ungasan Village, Kuta District (now Kuta Selatan), Badung Regency, Bali. The level of basic education was taken at SD Negeri 1 Ungasan in 1979 and graduated in 1985. Then continued his junior high school education at SMP Negeri 1 Sukawati, Gianyar in 1985 and successfully completed junior high school in 1988. In 1988 he continued his high school education at Gianyar 1 High School and successfully graduated in 1991.

The level of tertiary education was pursued at the Agricultural Socio-Economic Department of the Faculty of Agriculture UNUD in 1991 and graduated in 1996. Had worked in a private company during the period 1997 to 1999 before returning to the alma mater of the Agricultural Social-Economic Department of the Faculty of Agriculture UNUD in 2000 because during his education S1 received a TID scholarship (Service Association allowance) from the Ministry of Education and Culture at the time.

Master's degree was taken at the Department of Sociology, School of Social Science, University of Hawaii at Manoa, USA with a scholarship from The Ford Foundation-International Fellowship Program in 2004 and graduated in 2006. Doctoral degree was completed at UNUD Tourism Doctoral Program in 2017

Currently actively teaching in the Agribusiness Study Program (S1) of the Faculty of Agriculture of UNUD, the Agribusiness Masters Program of the Faculty of Agriculture of UNUD, and the Master of Tourism Study Program of the Faculty of Tourism of UNUD.
