Biografi

My name is Iriani Setyawati. I was born on September 17, 1974 in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. I studied my elementary, junior and senior high schools in Surabaya. I continued my study in Zoology Dept., Faculty of Biology, Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta and got bachelor of science (S.Si.) in 1998. I took my master's degree through the DUE Project scholarship and graduated in 2001 from the Faculty of Biology, Gadjah Mada University, with a master of science degree (M.Si.). Through the scholarship program, I was accepted as a lecturer in the Biology Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University, Bali, from March 2000 until now.

I received my Doctoral degree (Dr.) in Animal Sciences from Udayana University and is currently teaching some lectures and laboratory practices at Biology Program Study, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University in Bali, Indonesia. 

My professional interests focus on animal sciences i.e. anatomy and histology, physiology, embriology and reproduction, and teratology. Some examples of my recent projects i.e. the study of the utilization of calliandra leaves and pineapple peels in the feed on biological responses, growth and reproductive ability during growth phase in vivo (aplication on animal feed); and also the effects of 80% ethanol extract of Calliandra calothyrsus leaves on reproduction of prepubertal and ovariectomized white female rat (need further research to be apply as human herbal drug candidate). I have published my researches in some nationally acredited journals and international journals, and also in some Scopus-indexed conference proceedings.  In addition, I serve as a section editor for ATBES journal of Udayana University, and is a member of the Indonesian Biological Society and Society for Indonesian Biodiversity.
