Ida Ayu Gede Widihati was born in  Bangli, Bali on December 31, 1968. She finished her undergraduate education at the Udayana University Departmen of Chemistry in 1994. In 1996 she was appointed as a lecturer at the Chemistry Study Program at Udayana University. Continuing Masters Education at Gadjah Mada University in 2000 and completing them in 2002. She finished her Doctoral Program in the Medical Sciences  at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University with a concentration in Basic Natural Sciences in Medicine. Currently Ida Ayu Gede Widihati as the head of the Physical Chemistry laboratory in the department of Chemistry of Udayana University with the expertise in material chemistry.
