I Gede Mahardika, was born in Jembrana, Bali on 18 March 1960. Elementary school education at SD 1 Baluk, Jembrana, SMP in SMP 1 Negara and SMA Negeri 1 Singaraja. Continuing his undergraduate education at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry, Udayana University and completed in 1984, graduated Master's degree in 1990 and doctoral degree in 1996 at  Bogor Agricultural University.  Since 1985 as a lecturer at the Faculty of Animals Husbandry, Udayana University. In 1994, had the opportunity to attend a 6-month education at Hohenheim University, Germany in the area of Animals calorimetry. In 2005 was appointed professor of animals nutrition at the faculty of Animals Husbandry, Udayana University.
