Biografi

I have been working as a Lecturer at the School of Public Health, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University in Bali, Indonesia, since 2005. I teach some healthcare-related subjects, for instance, Health Economics, Health Program Evaluation, and Health Policy . I also work on a number of research projects funded by Ministry of Higher Education and several international organisations and have published in several national and international journals. I am currently working closely with The LIAM Charitable Fund, an Australian based charity that provides support for clinical and community based programmes focusing on reducing the harm caused by methanol poisoning in the community. I have been the leader and coordinator of  community programme since its inception in 2013. The community programme is aimed at providing education to local communities about the risks of methanol poisoning, how to recognise it and treat it, and how to ensure that locally produced arak (Balinese Wine) is made safely. The implementation of the programme demands particular skills in leadership, communication, coordination and persuasion. The structure of the programme is unique in its operation as it uses the Bondres, a Balinese traditional story-telling and dance, to convey messages and educate the audience. The programme has attracted local community’s involvement and active participation to ensure the achievement of the goal in recognising and treating those who have been poisoned through ingestion of methanol. I am proud to have been awarded the Australian Award Scholarship in 2007 to pursue a Master degree in The University of Melbourne . I subsequently led the Department of Health Policy and Administration at Udayana University, not long after my graduation. Since 2017, I have taken up a new role as the Secretary of the Centre for Public Health Innovation (CPHI), part of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University. This has enabled me to further develop my managerial career. My responsibilities include managing research staff, developing standard and procedure in the centre, marketing, public relation, as well as leading research and community services projects.
