Biografi

Anak Agung Putu Putra was born in Banjar Tegal Agung, Pemecutan Kelod, West Denpasar, Denpasar, on August 25, 1960. He completed his primary education in 1973 at Sekolah Dasar (Elementary School) Nomor 20 Denpasar. His junior high school education was completed in 1976 at Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri II Denpasar and his senior high school was completed at Sekolah Pendidikan Guru Negeri Denpasar in 1980.

His higher education began with an education at the Indonesian Language and Literature Department of the Faculty of Literature in 1980. Two years later, his education was in hold because he could not afford it. However, in 1982-1984, he received a scholarship allowance and in 1984-1985, he also received a scholarship from the Supersemar Foundation. As a result, he completed his education on May 5, 1985 with his final thesis entitled "Sasak Language in East Lombok Regency: An Overview of Dialect Geography". In 1991, he had the opportunity to continue his education in Ujung Pandang, at the Linguistic Study Program, Postgraduate Program, Hasanuddin University with a TMPD scholarship and completed his education on December 27, 1993 with his final thesis entitled "Construction of the Oblique in Balinese Language: Generative Transformation Analysis". He continued his doctoral study with a BPPS scholarship from September 2001 to March 2005 and he completed in September 2007 with his final dissertation entitled, "Dialectal Segmentation of Sumba Language on Sumba Island: A Dialectological Study".

Two years later, he was given the mandate to become the head of the Indonesian Literature Department from 2009 to 2013. In 2012, he was positioned as the secretary of the Linguistic Doctoral Program, Postgraduate Program at Udayana University until 2016. His Tri Darma activities carried out by conducting research, teaching, and community service. The three activities were carried out within the University of Udayana, both in the Indonesian Literature Study Program, the Linguistic Masters Program, and in the Linguistic Doctoral Study Program at the Faculty of Arts, Udayana University. He also joined several visits, researches, seminars, workshops, trainings, community services, socialization, cooperation in implementing higher education Tridarma to several universities and institutions, such as in Palangkaraya (2012), Flores (2013), Tarakan (2014), Medan and Nias (2014), Papua (2015), Padang (2016), and East Sumba (2017). The visit was carried out with the Masters and Doctoral Programs team, Faculty of Arts, Udayana University.
