Abstrak

The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that students did not motivate work in the studio and the factors that were motivate to do tasks outside the formal studio.  Information gathering is carried out through in-depth interviews with this informant. The results of the interview in the form of recorded audio (audio) then become written language. From the written language, coding is then carried out to find meaningful keywords that lead to the research objectives. On the other hand, observations were also made to observe the physical conditions of formal and informal studios, information was also searched on websites about the management and facilities of studios in several colleges of Architecture in Java.  The results showed that the main factor that did not motivate students to do assignments in the studio was the problem of studio  facilities that did not support and the problem of managing the studio including treating students as partners for learning and humanities.
