Abstrak

The role of language cannot be ignored in overcoming various social problems that occur in society such as conflicts of rejection of the existence of a community group. The nature of language that is easy to contact because it is more open and more receptive to outside influences compared to customs and culture makes language one of the determining factors in solving various social disharmonies. Plurality, in addition to being able to create integration with local communities, this contact can also lead to horizontal social disharmony between community groups. The disharmony is very vulnerable to approaching plural societies in terms of both ethnicity and religion found in migrant areas as happened in multicultural areas such as in Bali. In order for Bali and national development to be carried out optimally, strategic steps taken by various ethnic groups in Bali are needed to overcome various disharmonies. The strategic step in question is one of them by making linguistic and social accommodations in inter-ethnic interaction, namely mainly ethnic migrants (Javanese, Sasaks, Sundanese, Bataks hereinafter referred to as diaspora) with ethnic Balinese. This study aims to analyze the linguistic and social accommodation of diaspora communities in Bali in order to find the right accommodation model that must be carried out by the diaspora and ethnic Balinese communities in interacting to cope with various disharmonies. To answer these questions, this research is urgent to do. This research will be carried out in diaspora pockets in the capital of regencies / cities in Bali, namely in the city of Denpasar, Singaraja district, Karangasem district, Gianya regency, Bangli regency, Tabanan regency, and Jemberana regency.
