Study of Sources, Classifications, and Meanings of Kidung Yadnya in Hindu Religion Ceremonies

Abstrak
This study aims to examine the source of the kidung yadnya text, classify the kidung yadnya text, and interpret the meaning of the kidung yadnya in Hindu religious ceremonies. This research is a qualitative research using a philology approach. Data collection is carried out through reading and listening techniques of kakawin, parwa, tutur/ tattwa, kidung, geguritan to be sorted and selected as a source of the kidung yadnya. The collected data is recorded on a data card to avoid forgetfulness and loss of data. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively conceptually with descriptive-analytic techniques based on the stages of the work of semiotic structuralism theory. The results of the presentation of data analysis using informal methods in the form of systematic and structured verbal explanations and formal methods using signs or symbols that apply in the science of literature. The results showed that the source of the kidung yadnya text consisted of sloka, parwa, tutur-tattwa, kakawin, kidung, and geguritan. The meaning of hymns in Hindu religious ceremonies is an integral part of Hindu religious practice as a representation of Hindu self-offerings to God through the art of song.
