Analysis Compound Words on The Song Lyrics of Ardhito Pramono A Letter to My 17 Year Old Album

This study is concerned with analyzing the compound words from the types and meaning of context in each compound word found because analyzing songs it's can help the listener to deeper into the meaning of their favorite recent song. This study aimed to explain the types of compound words and the contextual meaning of each compound word that has been found in song lyrics of Ardhito Pramono's "A Letter to My 17 Year Old" album. In this context, compound words are words that are arranged of two (or more than two) of the stems or roots. The compound word theory that the writer analyze uses the theories by Lieber (2009). The data source of this study is all songs in the album "A Letter to My 17 Year Old" by Ardito Pramono. There are five songs in the album, and the writer applied the qualitative method to analyze the data and the reason for choosing this study topic and study question. At least the writers reveal that conducting morphology analysis should be a good way of understanding the meaning of a song. Keywords: Morphology, Compound Word, Song, Analysis, Contextual Meaning.
