Abstrak

Kalibukbuk Buddhist temple is one of the archaeological heritages in North Bali precisely in Kalibukbuk Village Buleleng District Buleleng Regency. Kalibukbuk Buddhist Temple is used as culture resource today. The purpose of this research is to answer the questions of the role and participation of the community in the utilization of Kalibukbuk Buddhist temple as cultural resources at the present time and the community’s efforts in the utilization of Kalibukbuk Buddhist temple as a culturalresource. The method used in this research is qualitative analysis and theories used in this research are 1) the management theory 2) structural-functional theory. Results from this research are that the form of the role and participation of the community to use Kalibukbuk Buddhist temple at the present time are that people have come to visit Kalibukbuk Buddhist temple for religious purposes, educational purposes, research interests and historical or archeological visit. The other role and participation of the communities are that they disseminate cultural values, historical values, knowledge values, and social values. Community’s efforts to use Kalibukbuk Buddhist temple are improving human resources, providing a guide for the temple, promoting Kalibukbuk Buddhist temple, and improving facilities and infrastructure. Conclusions from the study indicate that the role and participation in the utilization of Kalibukbuk Buddhist temple as cultural resources at the present time has been put to good use but still needs to be improved.
