Abstrak

In the book entitled FORENSIC LINGUISTICS: Case Studies of Cross-Language Texts, 18 articles are presented which vary in terms of topics, discussion models, and different types of language texts: Indonesian, Balinese, English, and Japanese. The eighteen works are divided into seven topics: Theoretical Studies and Its Applications, Legal Documents, Suicide, Hate Speech, SARA, Prostitution, and Criticism of Officials. The text data analyzed came from various sources including online media texts, law texts, regional regulation texts, and even village regulation texts (awig-awig). The research problems also vary, especially those related to potential violations of law or social ethics from the analyzed text. The Forensic Linguistics approach supported by micro linguistic and macrolinguistic theories becomes the main analytical tool to find any linguistic evidence that leads to violations of law or social ethics. There are both theoretical and practical purposes for this book. The theoretical goal is to participate in developing the realm of Forensic Linguistics in terms of theoretical and methodological approaches so that a more established theory construction can be created.
