The
aim of this study is to know the strenght and density of balinese cattle and
madura’s. A number of 40 sampels from balinese and madura’s cattle femoral bone
are used on this research. Balinese cattle femoral bones was obtained from
Mambal’s abattoir, Abian Semal, Badung, Bali. While madura’s cattle femoral
bones obtained from Bancaran’s abattoir, Bangkalan, Madura, East Java. All
colected sample cleansed from inherent
muscle, dryed, and prepared till be ready as object of research. Volumes and
mass of bone were measured to know the density mass. The thickness of cortical
bone and diameter measured using calipers. Compressive strenght test and
scaning electrone microscope (SEM) doing in Faculty of Enginering, Udayana
University. The result showed that average spesific gravity of
Madura’s Cattle was 1.58 g/mL, it was bigger than balinese cattle (SG= 1.38
g/mL). Average thickness cortical femur of madura’s cattle on the top part was
0.44mm, middle= 1.12mm, and bottom part= 0.43mm. It was thicker than balinese
cattle (top cortical thickness= 0.39mm, middle= 0.84mm, and bottom part= 0.34mm).
As well as average diameter of diaphysis madura’s femoral bone (4.42 cm2) it was bigger than balinese cattle (3.54cm2). Average strenght of copressive strenght test from madura’s
cattle was 53pascal, it was stronger than balinese cattle
