EDUCATION OF COVID-19 PREVENTION BY USING SOCIAL MEDIA OF PHARMACIST PROFESSION STUDY PROGRAM

Pharmacist profession study program, is one of the study programs managed by of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University. Graduates of the pharmacist profession study program will get a degree and authority as a Pharmacist. Pharmacists are health workers in the pharmaceutical field. In carrying out their professional practice, Pharmacists are familiar with the term Nine Star of Pharmacist as the role of Pharmacists launched by the World Health Organization (WHO). Nine Star of Pharmacist is the role of a Pharmacist in the Health care system which includes care giver, communicator and teacher. In implementation the role of the Pharmacist as a care giver, communicator and teacher, a Pharmacist can provide appropriate information regarding to the use of drugs in a certain disease condition or information about how to preventing the spread of a disease.
Covid-19 is a disease caused by coronavirus. Coronavirus is a group of viruses that can cause disease in animals or humans. Covid-19 is a type of disease caused by a new type of virus whose spread began in Wuhan, China in December 2019. In May 2020, the total confirmed cases in Bali reached 270 cases. Some steps that can be taken in preventing further transmission from Covid-19 include physical distancing, implementing a clean and healthy lifestyle and increasing body immunity. In the effort to prevention of this disease transmission, the community is encouraged to doing hand washing movements properly and the use of masks when have an activity outside the home. This information needs to be continued to be socialized to the community, so that the community then becomes accustomed to implementing these prevention activities in their daily lives. This process is one of the educational activities that can be carried out by Pharmacists.

The physical distancing implementation is not an obstacle for Pharmacists to be able to educate the community. As part of the Community Service activities, Pharmacists can spread information about how to prevent Covid-19 transmission using audiovisual or printed media that are distributed online on various social media platforms. To support the government's program in preventing the spread of Covid-19, the pharmacist study program of MIPA Faculty, Udayana University in collaboration with the Pharmacist alumni, pharmacist internship practice place and the Indonesian Pharmacist Association of Bali Regional managed community service in the form of online education about preventing the spread of Covid-19 which is done online with social media. The community service activities such as the dissemination of educational videos online and the provision of information through social media by pharmacists. In this activity we want to involve various parties, especially Pharmacist alumni to participate in distributing the video so that it can reach various levels of society. This is also a form of responsibility for the Pharmacist professional study program for the community. The social media that use for this online community service such as instagram (instagram apoteker Udayana), facebook (facebook apoteker Udayana) or via youtube platform.
