Washing your hand with soap can protect you against COVID-19. If you can't find facilities to wash your hand, you can use alcohol-based hand sanitizer. Since the basic ingredients of hand sanitizers are alcohol, it is important to use and store them carefully.  WHO advice to follow this precaution in using alcohol-based hand sanitizers:

1. Store alcohol-based hand sanitizers in places that are difficult for children to reach. Teach children how to use alcohol-based hand sanitizers properly and monitor their use. Alcohol-based hand sanitizers should not be drunk or swallowed because they can cause poisoning.

2. Apply alcohol-based hand sanitizers about the size of a coin. Excessive use does not provide additional benefits, cause dry hand and irritation.

3. Avoid touching the eyes, mouth and nose immediately after using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer because this can cause irritation.

4. Alcohol-based hand sanitizers are flammable. Do not use before working with fire or cooking

Remember, washing your hands with soap and water is also effective against COVID-19
