The development of electricity science and technology today can be realized in the form of high voltage network transmission systems that are stretched in the air or called the High Voltage Air Line (SUTET). In a review of physics based on Ampere's Law, that magnetic fields can be generated by electrical current. From this law it can be learned that SUTET can cause exposure to magnetic fields.
Anies research results, population under SUTET in Pekalongan Regency, Pemalang Regency and Tegal Regency in 2004, showed the risk of electrical sensitivity or health problems marked by neurological symptoms and sensitivity in the form of headaches, dizziness and chronic fatigue. Raja P. Manurung and Trisnawati also conducted research on the effect of magnetic fields on hemoglobin in mice. The result is hemoglobin levels in mice have decreased. Research on the influence of the magnetic field of other blood cells namely red blood cells is also very important because red blood cells are responsible for the metabolic processes and biochemical processes in producing energy. This study uses white mice because white mice have unique genetic characteristics, are easy to breed, and are easy to get. Based on research conducted by Sukma Sari and Trisnawati regarding the effect of exposure to magnetic fields on the number of red blood cells of white mice states that exposure to magnetic fields has an impact on reducing the number of red blood cells. Recovery of the number of red blood cells to return to normal after exposure to a magnetic field takes more than five days.
Related to the results of these studies and quoted from Detikfinane it is appropriate for the community to avoid settling in areas under SUTET, because electric currents cause magnetic fields that cause health problems for humans if too often exposed. The Government through the Directorate General of Electricity of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has issued Ministerial Regulation No. 18/2015 replaces the previous regulation namely ESDM Minister Regulation No. 01.P / 47 / M.PE / 1992 concerning free space and minimum distance on SUTET. Free space in question is an area with a certain distance or radius measured from the SUTET pole tread that must be free from any building.
