Campus Atmosphere at the Beginning of the Covid Pandemic 19
Mid-march 2020, news about the outbreak of covid 19 in Indonesia. The atmosphere of the campus where I work at Udayana University (Unud), precisely on March 13, 2020, the day before the inauguration of the professor at Unud. I read the invitation letter from members of the university senate to attend the inauguration of professors, feelings of anxiety, worries haunting my mind, whether the next day I will attend the inauguration of professors in a covid 19 pandemic situation? This anxiety arises because the news on television with countries that have been affected by corona cases such as in the city of Wuhan, China. Wuhan City had a massive impact, structured with high mortality rates due to corona virus infection. After the city is imposed lockdown, the city is like a dead city. Finally, because of an obligation, the next day, on March 14, 2020, I attended the inauguration of a permanent professor at Udayana University in Widya Sabha Building, Bukit Jimbaran Badung Campus, Bali. After meeting colleagues on campus, it turned out that my feelings of worry about hanging out with many people were not only felt by other friends. Although on that day there was an initiative from the Head of Pharmacy Study Program of FMIPA Unud to donate hand sanitizer made by a Pharmacy lecturer friend, so that before shaking hands with the professor who was confirmed on that day, we were invited to clean the hands with hand sanitizer and after that also clean the hands again with a hand sanitizer. It turned out that the situation that I was thinking about also descended into the mind of the Rector's mother and her staff, the Senate Chair and other lecturer friends. Finally it was decided after the inauguration ceremony of the Professor, at around 13.00 West Indonesian Time a limited meeting was held between the Chancellor and his staff, the Senate Chair and several other lecturers. The results of the meeting decided that on Monday March 16, 2020 a partial lockdown was held. Students and lecturers may go to campus to conduct learning activities with no more than 20 people. This partial lockdown activity also still raises concerns among lecturers and students. Activities testing PKL (Field Work Practices), testing student research proposals, testing the final project is done with an uncomfortable feeling. Even students who have taken the PKL, Proposal and Final Project examinations which usually at the end of the event shake hands between lecturers and students because the condition of the covid19 pandemic finally only covers their hands on their chests. A new behavior that adjusts to covid 19 conditions. Not long ago there was a circular from the chancellor that the campus was not allowed to carry out learning activities as usual and was replaced with an online learning process from home.
