The role of Cisco Webex in online lectures.

During the Prevention and Development and Spread of Corona Virus Disease (Covid-19) at the end of March 2020, there was a learning shift in lectures that began with full online lectures. The impacts resulting from this shift are positive and some need to be corrected. We are from Ps. Informatics FMIPA of Udayana University, get a good opportunity in e-learning OASE (https://oase.unud.ac.id) there is a complete guide in installing and using Cisco Webex as a substitute for face-to-face in conventional class.

 WebEx is an online application developed by Cisco that makes it easier for users to collaborate with each other through images, videos and sounds from anywhere. (Https://id.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cisco_TelePresence) Webex services installed for students and lecturers, namely Cisco Webex Meeting, where lecturers can easily schedule online lecture meetings and students get the link address to enter the meeting room to have online meetings. Filture used for students interface analysis courses can demonstrate the user interface creation application, one of the examples of student content sharing in creating expert system applications in managing users as seen in Figure 1. below.

 In this online class, students can also provide input or discussion on further improvements. Other requirements from lecturers can also take lecture recordings that have been given as feedback for the next meeting. Weaknesses that still need to be learned are managing the video light so it is comfortable to be seen by students, and providing services to group several students in one group so that they can discuss.

Students get more knowledge and enthusiasm to create better applications from their friends. In terms of tools, students sometimes use mobile phones to Room Meeting  so that they must switch to a laptop, for  the turn of the demo program .

Very interesting and challenging to continue to develop the use of Cisco Webex, with the hope of obtaining optimal benefits both in terms of Lecturers and Students.
