Covid-19
pandemic has been going on for more than 4 (four) months, without us knowing
when it will end. These impacts can be felt in all aspects of life, such as public
health, the business actifity and all
its associated activities, agriculture and animal husbandry, academic, and
others. The actifitie of academic in Indonesia, through the Ministry of
Education and Culture, especially universities, is required to quickly adapted
to uncertain situations. To prevent and break the chain of the spread of
Covid-19, work systems and learning activities are organized online, working
and study from home (WFH / SFH). The system has an impact on cost on study and
online meetings. The Chancellor of the University of Udayana responded and
continued to update the situation with reference to the Ministry of Education
and Culture. Another impact of the Covid-19 pandemic is the occurrence of
disruption to food needs as a staple food for the people. To reduce this, the
central and regional governments allow these supplements to run. With this
permit, at the same time can reduce the economic burden on the community and
the government.
In the Covid-19 pandemic the Faculty of Animal Husbandry,
Udayana University carried out online recovery and study from home or study
from home (SFH). Students, lecturers and employees may not be on campus. In the
Faculty of Animal Husbandry campus area there is a Teaching Farm with the main
activity being the operation of a Close House Broiler Cage system with a
capacity of 20,200 animals /period (30 days). The porpuse of the Close House cage
is a place for agribusiness practicum and student internships. The Covid-19
pandemic situation prohibits students from going to campus, but the physical
activity of the cage must not be stopped, because this will cause the drope condition
of the cage. With a situation that allows activities related to groceries
production may be active, then with the permission of the Rector (WR.IV)
operational maintenance of broiler chickens can be carried out. The
implementation certainly follows the health protocol requirements (without
internship students and practicum). During the Covid-19 pandemic, Clohe House
enclosures had operated three times. The policy of the Dean of Animal Hunbandry
Fakulty, with permission from the Rector for the operation of a Close House
enclosure with broiler chicken production in the Covid-19 situational pandemic,
can directly help groceries circulation, especially broiler meat on the market
and at the same time strengthen the people's economy.
That is the policy of the
Dean of Animal Husbandry Faculty to reduce the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic
