Chronic suppurative otitis media or the common language known as curek is a middle ear disease that needs attention. CSOM has a significant impact in the form of death in dangerous types and decreased hearing function and decreased quality of life in safe types. The etiology or cause of CSOM is multifactorial involving the host, agent and environment. Host factors include anatomic dysfunction or immune system dysfunction, agent factors such as Pseudomonas Aeruginosa, Staphylococcus Aureus, Haemofilus influenza and environmental factors such as environmental hygene. These three factors have an inseparable contribution. Management of CSOM starts from sorting CSOM types through stages of physical examination and support. Investigations needed include radiology and microbiology. MSCT Mastoid scan is a radiological examination that helps assess the pathological condition of the middle ear and mastoid. After the diagnosis of CSOM is erect, management refers to the flow of CSMS management according to type. Complications that can occur in CSOM can be complications due to spread to surrounding tissues or to distant places such as intracranial and can result in death. Therefore it is necessary to have a proper diagnosis and treatment of CSOM.
