The risk of contamination by pesticides with vegetable farmers is when buying, storing, mixing, spraying, and after spraying. To avoid the danger of being contaminated, there are several guidelines for the use of pesticides, ranging from buying pesticides, transporting pesticides, storing pesticides, preparing pesticides, spraying pesticides, finished spraying, to securing pesticide cans.

Buying Pesticides

In buying pesticides, several things should be considered:

· Buy pesticides at official sales points

· Buy pesticides that still have a label. The label is a brand and a brief description of its use and danger

· Buy pesticides which are still intact, not leaking

Transporting Pesticides

            Some things that must be considered in storing pesticides, namely:

· Pesticides must be stored in their original containers or packaging, whose labels are still intact and clear

· Put it not upside down, the part that can be opened is on the top

· Store in a special place far from the reach of children, away from food, food and utensils, away from wells, and locked

· Pesticide containers must be tightly closed and not leaked

· The space where pesticides are stored must be ventilated

· Pesticide containers may not be exposed to direct sunlight

· Pesticide containers must not be exposed to rain

· If at one time there are more than one container and one type of pesticide available, the storage must be grouped according to the type and size of the container.


Preparing Pesticides

            When preparing pesticides, there are also some things that can be used as a guide:

· All skin, mouth, nose, eyes and head must be covered. Therefore, wear long sleeves, long pants, masks that cover the neck, and rubber gloves

· Use special tools to measure and stir the pesticide solution to be used. Do not use hands.

· If the spray hole is clogged, clean it with water or soft objects

· Don't blow on it

· Keep children and pets away from the pesticide preparation site

After  Spraying

            After finishing spraying also must pay attention to several things:

· Wash your body and drink

· Remnants of pesticides and used water washing tools used to prepare pesticides should not pollute water sources (wells, tanks), waterways, and fish ponds

· Wash clothes and take a clean bath

Safety for  Pesticide Cans

· Pesticide cans and packs are planted in holes far from water sources

-Used cans do not use for food containers or other necessities
