CHANGE THE WAY OF EDUCATION

The new school year is not only confusing for high school kids, but also college. Middle schools are confused by the controversial zoning determination. Even about age. In college, the problem is different. Many still say that the tertiary institution (strata 1) is a terminal to sharpen the brain to get a job. In addition, the pursuit of a degree is also a reference for high school children to choose majors in college. Most parents of students also still have many views like this. Eager to send their children to college to get a degree.

Such a view is not entirely wrong. The matter of maturing the brain and mind to get a job is indeed a high standard for providing solutions. At least at the S1 level, he is required to make a thesis with analysis using existing theories, which is an attempt to mature the mind. This view is true for the past, at least the eighties and below. Rarely did undergraduate at that time make college graduates, immediately got a job with a decent position. At the level of civil servants, they went straight to III A, a rather high rank.

But now, that is no longer the equivalent. It must be admitted honestly that many scholars are unemployed because there are so many college graduates. Many scholars also work not in accordance with their fields. The latter is actually not a problem because for Level 1 jenjan, we have been taught about problem analysis. So that even if an agriculture graduate suddenly becomes a detailer (pharmacy), they will be able to analyze market share and how to approach drug markets both doctors and pharmacies. Also, when viewed from the lectures and system of lecturing conducted in tertiary institutions, there should be no unemployment. Studying in college, actually creates creativity. Again, because they have been taught theoretical courses, analysis, and field practice. From this context, it can be said that the students concerned are lazy and less able to use and apply their lecture methods in the field. This should not happen at an age that is nearing adulthood (late adolescence).

However, the government seems to be aware of problems like this. That is why then came up with ideas and praxis to open vocational majors in higher education. Although the opening of this vocational program seems contradictory to the elimination of the level of academic education or the reduction of academics in the past, but vocational education that is put in place at universities (universities) provides an awareness that education that directly touches skills is needed by the state today. Vocational education provides special skills to students so that when they reach university they are able to apply their knowledge, both independently and when they enter the workforce. In the context of the current climate of competition and the needs of the country, it is precisely vocational education that is important.

However, again the old perspective is still attached. The community still wants a degree so that vocational education is still less visible. Take the example of D3 Library education. In Bali, it is still rare to see this level as a promising level. They, both high school students and parents of students, looked at this library as only a book watchman in the room. This is a very wrong view, even fatal and must be corrected immediately.

Education D3 The library is actually very easy to find work, both in the private sector and government, and it promises for the future. Obviously this education will produce librarians and also archivists who are experts in the field of information. So, their job is not only to guard books, but it is very far from it. They are very much needed by the state now to become archivists who can be needed in various offices.

In fact, they are able to compete with police, bankers, even doctors. With their ability to be archived through digital technology, they will be able to find out a person's disease history and provide information to doctors. They are also able to know the history of the borrower's money and can provide instructions to financial analysts in the bank, whether the borrower is feasible or not given a loan. Also know about the history of a bandit's crime, the history of urban stability, even the development of kovid-19.

Of course the other vocational education levels have different advantages. So, let us change the same perspective. Become a skilled and professional human. ***
