Quantitative Corpus Linguistic Study on Indonesian Causative Rival Affixes PER- and -KAN
Funding period : 2021- Active
Abstrak
Collaborator: Karlina Denistia, PhD (Universitas Sebelas Maret)
Overview
This study investigates the semantic, formal, and distributional constraints on the use of per- and -kan as rival affixes in deriving causative transitive verbs from adjective bases (cf. Sneddon et al., 2010, p. 103). We also investigate the productivity of the two affixes. We adopt quantitative corpus linguistic methodology and the usage-based, constructional approaches (project webpage on figshare). Two preliminary works related to this project can be seen in Rajeg & Rajeg (2017, 2019). (list of my other research)
