Abstrak
The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of progressive muscle therapy and dynamic supportive therapy simultaneously to depression in the elderly.The subject of this study was an elderly person who showed symptoms of major depressive disorder. Intervention using in this study were dynamic supportive therapy and progressive muscle relaxation. Research framework was qualitative method with a case study approach. Data was collected by observation and in-depth interviews. Data was analyzed using data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. Research results show progressive muscle relaxation can reduce physical symptoms that occur during depression. Dynamic supportive therapy can reduce symptoms of depression and arouse the motivation to continue life even with various problems that occur.
