Abstrak

This research aims to analyze the perception of millennial parents (born in 1981-1996) on the fulfillment of children's rights by the Government of Denpasar. This is related to the award given to Denpasar as 'Child Friendly City' (KLA) in 2018 which was crowned by the Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection (KP3A). In this framework, the city of Denpasar considered that it has a child rights based development system through the commitment of local governments, the community, and the business world – which is passed through policies, programs, and activities to ensure the fulfillment of rights and protection of children. This research uses a descriptive method with a quantitative approach, where the survey is conducted against respondents to measure its perception of the fulfillment of child rights to the KLA framework. There are five clusters categorized by KP3A according to UU No. 12/2011 about the KLA indicator, including: a. Civil and freedom rights; B. Family environment and alternative caregiving; C. Basic health and well-being; D. Education, leisure time, and cultural activities; and E. Special protection. The finding in this study is expected to contribute in the evaluation of the policy of KLA that has been run by Denpasar Government. In line with that, it hopefully inspires the university as a component of civil society to contribute in a child-friendly environment in the future.
