Funding period : 2018- Deactivate

Abstrak

City is a place where people carry out their activities and lives. The city is likened to a living creature that is always throbbing, changing in accordance with the changing society. The dynamics of change that occur within the city area reflect the dynamics of the community, therefore each city has a long history of community development and leaves various evidence of the cultural development of its people. Cultural heritage as evidence of community cultural development is considered as an asset of heritage that must be protected and preserved and is one of the goals of the development of heritage cities in Indonesia.

Denpasar city as one of the initiators of the heritage city has been established as a heritage city since 2010 and the Denpasar city government has carried out various activities towards good governance of the city. The identification of the inheritance assets, the protection action plan and the preservation of the inheritance assets and the development of the potential of the heritage assets to improve the community's economy are steps that must be taken by all parties concerned.

From the first year of research, it was found that the assets of the heritage of Denpasar City are dominated by relics which are places of worship / temples, palaces and facilities for the community. The condition of the assets of the heritage of Denpasar City in general is still used by the owner or by the people of Denpasar City, with the consequence that there is a change because it is still private / private. The condition of the inheritance assets that are still used by the owner and become a property / individual results in conservation measures that must be taken to require permission or cooperation with the owner.

The second year of research focused on exploring how the respond and the role of the community or the owner of heritage assets in the development of tourism in the heritage city of Denpasar.

Potential heritage assets must not only be protected but must be developed as part of the city's tourism development plan in the future. Tourism development is one of the alternatives for city development in the future and supports the central government policy that places tourism as the leading development sector in Indonesia. The role of the community to develop the concept of heritage tourism is very significant to be able to work together with the Denpasar city government
