Landused Pattern in River Waterfront in Denpasar

Abstrak
This research was conducted to identify the level of violations due to development that occurred at the edge of the waterfront measured from the regulations in force mentioned above. This era of globalization is a lot of development that does not pay attention to the surrounding environment that causes the environment to suffer damage which will later affect the quality of human life itself. The waterfront area in Bali has become the attracting in the development of tourism facilities and infrastructure such as hotels, villas, restaurants, malls, and so on. Of these uses it has not been identified how many of these facilities violate the rules of the waterfront border.
The study was designed as a qualitative study using field research as a method. Field research includes collecting primary data through direct surveys to the field. Direct field survey (naturalistic observation) is conducted to observe the actual conditions that occur at the location (natural settings). The observation location was chosen in the waterfront area that has been developed into a tourism and urban area. The waterfront area is selected in Denpasar. Based on these cases studies, it will evaluate what percentage violates the rules, what types of violations, and what functions are developed in the waterfront area. The final results of this study are expected to give an idea of the extent to which violation of the border of the waterfront region that occurred in Denpasar so that a comprehensive evaluation can be made of the pattern of the development of the waterfront area in Denpasar to realize the environmental sustainability of the waterfront region.
