MODEL OF ECOTOURISM PERFORMANCE POLICY TO BUILD A QUALITY TOURISM EXPERIENCE AND SUSTAINABLE TOURISM IN BALI PROVINCE

Bali is an island with an agrarian culture (Agrarian-Based Culture) coloring tourism activities so that Bali is one of the "pearls" of world tourism. The declining quality of the environment as a result of tourism is inevitable. Damage to the natural environment and the threat of a water crisis, wider coastal abrasion and landslides, which further threatens the sustainability of Bali's tourism.

The development of Ecotourism development as an alternative form of tourism is a choice needed to ensure the sustainability of tourism. Some references state that ecotourism forms the following aspects: First, the purpose of ecotourism refers to natural areas to reduce damage and pollution. Second, the progress of ecotourism emphasizes the principle of ecological protection. Third, ecotourism is a green industry that contains scientific and technological content. Fourth, ecotourism is very concerned about the economic development of tourism from destinations and the improvement of the living standards of local residents. Fifth, the advantage of ecotourism is the function of education on the ecological environment; views of the lifestyle and environment of tourists.

This study aims to invest in the Success Factors of Ecotourism development towards a quality tourism experience and sustainable tourism. The results of initial observations and theoretical tracing and the results of previous studies, there are 4 (four) first order theoretical success factors and 2 (two) theoretical success factors for the development of Ecotourism. The first order success factors consist of, protection of the natural environment, income creation, environmental education and community involvement. The second order success factor consists of conservation and economic and infrastructure development

Research is multi-years (multy years) 2 (two) years (2020-2021). The research outputs in the first year are (1) International journals, (2) Policy models in carrying out conservation and economic development in supporting the performance of ecotourism in Bali. Research output at stage 2 (1) International journals, (2) Policy models for developing and enhancing Ecotourism performance towards quality tourism experiences and sustainable tourism.

The benefits of this research are for holding the interests as a guideline in the development of ecotourism in Bali. For researchers, this research can be a reference for tourism research in the development of tourism management science.
