STUDY OF NUSA PENIDA TOURISM DEVELOPMENT USING TOURISMMORPHOSIS APPROACH

Research related to tourism development has been conducted by several researchers. In addition to the Tourism Area Life Cycle, there are various stages of development used to formulate and identify the development of a destination. Tourism development is one approach to formulating strategies for development, expansion, and management in an area. Nusa Penida is one of the rapidly developing tourism destinations in Bali. Featuring a number of coastal areas complete with religious tourism at several temples in the area, Nusa Penida offers a comprehensive range of tourism activities to international, domestic, and local Balinese tourists. Identifying the stages of tourism development in Nusa Penida is crucial not only to understand the position of each tourist attraction but also to provide input on development constraints, equity, or even disparities in tourism development within each attraction. The tourism development approach used is Tourismomorphosis. Based on the results of the study, tourism development in Nusa Penida has shown that tourism in Nusa Penida is at a compromise stage, where several compromises have been made between the community, tourism operators, investors, and the government in managing existing tourism activities.
